That’s the point. To sell and spread a particular narrative.

Ask him to show you Polo Jidari, Baga Road, Bama Road, Custom Ciki, Maimalari Barracks, not just Post Office area or Lagos Bridge. Or Monday Market to see the militarisations of a civilian market.

@OP some of us here know Borno State like the back of our hands. Don’t push us.

Maiduguri was a sweet place. Lovely, dark skinned Kanuri women, home of dried fish from lake chad and the most tolerant set of Muslims in Nothern Nigeria.

Alas! Alas!! Babylon has fallen!!!

You see those Kanuri women chop?

That is State that was ravaged by the activities of BokoHaram over the years but yet Gov KASHIM Shetima was able to put up such structures without hiding under the guise of insecurity to siphon. Though Politicians are thieves but Northern Nigeria Politicians are largely sincere better than the Southern thieves

What are these streaks of light on the roads

Time-lapse photography, meaning that the camera shutter remains open for a longer period of time than usual, thereby capturing car tail-lights as they travel over a distance.

By the way, pretty lights do NOT mitigate the well-earned reputation of Maiduguri as one of the most terrorist-infested towns in the entire world, where at any moment, suicide bombers or Islamic killer squads are liable to launch devastating attacks in the blink of an eye.

I would feel far safer swimming in a crocodile infested river, than I would walking or driving the deadly streets of Maiduguri, Nigeria.

Thank you for the lights, but no thanks for the tourist invitation. God bless common sense, and God forgive those who have none.

Hey, at least those who get shot or bombed by terrorists on the streets of Maiduguri, will get to admire beautiful lights in their dying moments. Good deal for them.

It's called long exposure in photography or some call it frozen timelapse.... they're from the lights of cars plying the road for a long time while the shuter was left open.... you can google it.

Maiduguri which is the state capital of Borno is not that bad in term of security as many of you people think, though going outside Maiduguri to the local government Areas is very risky as boko haram are having there field days with soldiers always on daily bases. some local government are not even functioning again because no single inhabitant except only soldiers that you will see there e.g Baga, kukawa. and many more have become a ghost town but not Maiduguri.
