Eerily similar.

Last year I was in Berlin and spent a lot of time learning about the DDR (former East Germany). I visited the Stasi museum and the DDR museum. All through my holiday I noticed many similarities of living under a communist state and being raised in the Jehovah’s Witness organization.

Im going to make comparisons between the former East German comminist state (DDR) but the comparisons are the same if we were talking about the USSR, North Korea or any other communist state.

1. First off, in the DDR everyone was watched. Your children were even encouraged to rat you out to the authorities if you said something anti-communist, if you bought listened to Western music, if you read “banned” books. Likewise, being a Jehovah’s Witnesses you’re constantly watched and scrutinized. They are encouraged to report even their own family to the elders if they suspect them of breaking the rules. You’re not allowed to study books by ex-members or visit “apostate” websites.

2. In the DDR you were told literally from the day you were born that “we’re right”, “we’re the good ones”, “the west is evil”. Likewise, Jehovah’s Witnesses are constantly told that only they have the truth and “people of the world” are not to be trusted, dangerous and bad.

3. In the DDR all information is vetted before it gets to you. Books, TV, radio, newspapers - they’re all from the same source. You wont hear anything negative about the DDR and you wont hear anything positive about the West. It’s exactly the same being a Jehovah’s Witness. You don't hear about the child abuse lawsuits or anything else negative. You only hear the good things (which are usually exaggerated) and all information about the outside world is always bad.

4. In the DDR you can’t leave. If you try to you get punished. If you successfully sneak out you lose your family. They can’t contact you. Likewise, in the Jehovah’s Witnesses you cant just leave. You’re hounded by elders asking why you’re not at meetings and if they hear you’re an atheist or are critical of the organization they disfellowship you and you lose your family.

5. In the DDR individuality and creativity was stifled. Music, dress, artwork - it was all policed. It’s the same in the Jehovah’s Witnesses. You cant listen to heavy metal, punk or gansga rap. You cant dye your hair green and spike it in a mohican if you wanted to.

And then there’s the actual world they’re praying for. Jehovah’s Witnesses look forward to the day when Jesus kills all non Jehovah’s Witness men, women, children and babies so that they can live in a vegetarian socialist utopia like the one above.

This is what i asked you yesterday regarding the video you posted when an indecisive lady was talking and you took it to heart as if she's got something worthwhile to say!

Jehovah's Witnesses are looking forward to a time when Jesus will kill all nonejws so that only JWs will live forever on earth. Right?
OK what's written in the Bible book of Psalms 37:9-11, Proverbs 2:20-22?

Shey God is evil for making such pronouncement?
Abi it's a crime to identify the GROUP teaching people how to escape such divine judgement?
What about other religions saying God will burn the earth and build another one for them but all those who aren't following their teachings will be tormented inside intensely hot fire FOREVER AND EVER?
