It's the pleasure of the Students' Union President Adesomoju Samuel Tobi (Sam Praise) to write through office of the Chief Press Secretary to the School Management, Nigerian Army, the police Force and Nigerians at large on the unexpected disaster that befell a 300l student of our school on 31 day of July 2019 at the military check point between Akungba and lkare road Akoko. It's surprising and regretfully that this happened after the wife of the State Governor Beti Akeredolu held a campaign rally against rape in about some weeks ago. The lady was order to come down from the minibus called agolo on her way to campus, while others in the bus were asked to go ahead. The victim (namewithheld) was taken into the military building and was raped by a soldier, officer Sunday who hails from Ekiti. His colleagues later found out and the case was reported to the appropriate quarter, while the victim was rushed to the General hospital ikare. The Brigadier General of the Army in ondo state sent a representative from akure to confirmed the situation. On his confirmation, the soldier was arrested and drove to akure for appropriate actions to be taken. The case was confirm by the students Union President, the School CSO and some other security agencies that were present at the check point following their alertness.
It's a cynical to find out that the perpetrator is a member of the Nigerian Army.

It's lugubrious and an aberration of the well known trainings and disciplines that exist in the military. Its sardonic that a member of the Nigerian Army who had been particularly trained on the defense of the country and protection of the lives of her citizens is found to commit devilish act that transcend that of the devil to a citizen.

Its well known that Cases like this have been harbour over the years in the country using some delay tactics. It's for this reason that we beseech the Nigerian Army and the Police Force who have taken commendable actions to please finish up the case diligently. We thank the school management for taken up the matter. We are working with relevant bodies and individuals as part of our effort to follow up the case to the later. The perpetrator must be punished and the victim must be compensated. We are not going to entertain any form of negligence from the Army or Police force on this matter. The welfarism our students is our ultimate priority. We are giving the Nigerian Army and the Police Force 7 days to scrupulously do the needful.

If this is not done, the revulsion and a break of hostility by Nigerian students against the bodies and individuals concerned will be inevitable. This is a treat to life and human dignity and will not be handle lackadaisically. Injury to one Is injury to all.
