The new Sentra appears to be better-looking inside and out, and we’re happy to see that it’ll still offer a stick-shift.

Also, there’s a manual! The 2019 Sentra offers a manual in the base trim and slightly warm Nismo trim, but it’s great to see the next-generation won’t be giving it up. Even if it isn’t the most engaging gearbox to row through, the ability to shift gears ourselves is still very much appreciated when the other option is a CVT.


We’d wager that the Sentra’s standard engine will be a naturally aspirated inline-four, possibly the Rouge Sport’s 2.0-liter which makes 141 horsepower, with a turbocharged engine possible as an upgrade motor. A continuously variable automatic transmission is sure to complement the six-speed stick, and the automatic will likely come standard on most of the Sentra’s trim levels.

The picture up there is not exactly a Sentra but a Sylphy.
They are similar though but different markets.
That is Sentra is mainly for north America while Sylphy is for parts of Asia mainly China.
I hope they keep the exact design for the north American market.
Sometimes they change it.

This looks too posh and radical for the usually drab and conservative Sentra. I hope the price remains within the existing Sentra level.
