The governor of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha, has on Wednesday the 14 of August 2019, appointed former Super Eagles striker, Kanu Nwankwo as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports Matters.

The governor’s aide on New Media, Izuchukwu Akwarandu, made known the confirmation of Kanu as the senior special assistant to the governor on Sports Matters in a statement issued by the aide.

36Naija understands that the appointment was made at the government house in Owerri, the Imo state capital when Kanu visited Governor Ihedioha.
