A lot of companies lose millions yearly due to a high turnover rate of their staff. It takes money to replace and train replacements and this is why businesses should endeavour to reduce their staff turnover rate. Here are some reasons employees keep leaving and what you can do easily to increase staff retention. 1. Consider culture fitness while hiring: Yes, it is important to hire highly skilled individuals but also pay attention to the detail of culture fit. Does this individual fit well with your company's values? You can ask questions to test their behavioural responses to scenarios during the hiring process and to even go the extra mile, show them around your business and pay close attention to how they respond to the environment. Hiring the right people will help reduce the turnover rate and ensure your employees fit in easily. 2. Offer competitive staff benefits and rewards. More than just their take-home, giving proper staff benefit goes a long way to ensuring the turnover rate in a company is reduced. Nice write up. Very nice indeed!!!! But how can one prove that they possess high potentials to perform in a job and willing to learn when there are limited opportunities?? Even volunteering to work and have a basic knowledge in a field you have passion for is becoming difficult. Not to talk more of working in an organization that values a talented employee, making sure that his/her needs are taken care of and then taking steps to make sure that all employees are rewarded according to their performance. #itiswell 1 Like |

The business owners talk down on them, and use uncomplimentary words to describe the actions of their staff. They feel they cannot pass their message across, without including a healthy dose of derision and ridicule. It needs to stop. A worker who is well respected, and whose work is appreciated tends to perform better. 8.). Build good policies and structures within the business, that would aid and promote operational excellence. The business of the company should not be carried out in a haphazard manner, neither should official decisions be executed solely based on the owner's moods. 9). Make training courses and programmes a core part of talent development within the company. Expose your staff to new methods and new ways of learning things, so that their performance can improve. Do not micromanage them. Allow them to use their initiative, to a reasonable extent, without damaging the company's products or services or profits. obajoey: Exactly!
