The journey of a thousand miles they say begins with a step. It is the desire of every civil servant to serve and ends his service alive.


The glorious retirement from civil service of the olowo- elect, is a thing of joy as he is not retiring like everyother civil servant.


The great man known as Ajibade Gbadegesin will henceforth assume a prominent position as the new Olowo of Owo to extend his service to his people as a traditional ruler of Owo Kingdom.


The Ondo State civil service commission, performed a mandatory retirement ceremony for the new Olowo of Owo elect on the 22nd of August 2019 at Akure the ondo state capital.


The Head of service in Ondo State, Mr Dare Aragbaiye who was present to perform the ceremony, said it is the first of its kind for a serving permanent secretary to emerge as the Olowo of Owo in Ondo state.


Mr Aragbaiye, recounted that the Olowo elect who joined civil service in 2001, has served in different parastals and gave his quota to the growth and development of ondo state.


Prior to his retirement, he was a director of finance government House and Protocol before assuming the position as a permernent secretary where he has fully rendered his invaluable services.


Dignitries present at the event recognized the Olowo-elect as a man with a clean pin, who is well cultured and dedicated to service. They also expressed that the commission would miss him in a positive grief.


Olowo -Elect, Ajibade Gbadegesin admitted that the civil serivce has trained and schooled him in service to humanity. He said the civil service is a unique organization for anyone who want to serve the people.


He expressed gratitude to the Ondo state Governor who deemed it right for him to reach the level of permernent secretary. He advices that everyone should be contended with what they have as he promises to be a good representative of Ondo State and would use his position to effect positive changes in Ondo State.


The Chief of staff who spoke during the ceremony, said the people of Owo has made the right choice by choosing someone as Gbadegesin who has the capacity to lead his people. He appreciated the Omolowo for the peaceful selection.
