I will always commend the Nigerian government when they take the right actions. The government officials in Yardua/Goodluck Jonathan regime that entered into the contract with P&ID-a two man Irish company set up in 2006 and that led to us getting fined $9 billion should be tried for treason. They conspired with international consipirators to fleece Nigeria of billions of dollars.

Knowing how this fantastically corrupt government operates they might conspire with the international consiprators to come to a settlement and shares the proceeds of the fines through a money laundering tax haven.

An incompetent, dumbass president and his appointees sit twiddling their thumbs, getting zilch done! When shiit hits the fan and lands on their faces they start running helter-skelter, looking for whom to blame for their mess.
In the next 4-8 years, another government will pick and prosecute the current government agents that have landed Nigeria in the unjustifiable debts that have been incurred.

This case came up about a year ago. Government is a continuum. I agree the deal was struck by GEJ and Yaradua. However, there were opportunities to settle the matter out of court under the current government. They were not present at the ruling. We could have paid a fraction of this fine. Difficult to say why this government did nothing t make traction. Maybe the clause was complex.

The contract was awarded by government officials with colloboration with international collaborators to defraud the country. This is the biggest 419 scheme ever pulled on the country.Nigeria's fantastically corrupt polticians believe they can get away with anything
The company was registered in 2006 and is owned by two Irish men. The terms of the deal allowed a clause for them to paid at $100 dollar a barrel for 20 years of lost income if the contract was terminated.
Government officials in APC will try to get their cut and my prediction is that they will settle for around $1 billion dollars and a briefcase company will be registered to receive the payment and used to make payments to bank account of the officials in APC that broker the deal, the ex officials in Yardua/Goodluck Jonathan regime and the international collaborators in money laundering havens such as Isle of Man,Jersey,Panama or Cayman Islands.
Nigerians politicians actions are so predictable, they have been pulling the same scams since 1960 under different guises.

Get your facts right please. The deal was struck by Yar Adua. Jonathan was a VP at the time and had nothing to do with same. He only intervened to negotiate compensation for the company after Yar Adua's demise

Goodluck Jonathan regime intervened, but for their own selfish interest. Mohammed Adoke, the Attorney General at the time who is in exile in Holland for his role in the $1.1 billion dollar Malabu scam and the $500 million bribe dollar that was shared among government officials, was the same man that tried to intervene and negotiate compensation with P&ID. Adoke going by his role in the Malaubu Oil scam would have arranged his own cut in the compensation for himself and other members of the fantastically corrupt Goodluck Jonathan regime.

Corruption is even worse- politicians are now moving with bullion vans of their loot in public view. Even under Abacha this never happened.

I know you're merely repeating what the Reno guy had previously tweeted, but have you stop to consider just how ridiculous it sounds?

That the second in command knew nothing of the contract of such stupendous magnitude? REALLY??

Even if we accept that he knew nothing, the fact that he couldn't sort it out in the five years he was in the saddle is equally damning.
