I really want to know if it is possible to insert a data in excel sheet into a MYsql Database.
And please what is the logic in getting it done.

What i know is Mysql has a tool that converts excel to sql, but your intention is an application that reads excel to sql my best bet is for you to look into COM under php where php application can access windows application or if it is possible create an ODBC DSN point to an excel file and connecting to that i think you should research more on this,

Assuming I have Data' s up to 2000 records entered in excel and the company involve has been using excel to keep records for a long period of time, and now they need a system whereby those record can actually be transfered into MYSQL database.
What method can I actually use to implement this.

Do you want an automated process or manual process?
Manual process is relatively easy:
Import the worksheet into a SQL table using the import wizard
Select x, y, z
Into dbo.new_table
From dbo.old_table
Union all
Select x, y, z
Into dbo.new_table
from dbo.old_table_1
group by x,y,z
order by 1,2,3
