Zik lived in Lagos and spoke Yoruba. A bus stop in Ikeja is called "Ile Zik".
Yorubas were many in his party and helped the NCNC win seats in the West.
Southerns like Zik and Awo and Northerners like Aminu Kano , plus one guy from the Middle belt were pan Nigerian; tribe was secondary to Nigeria.
