THE Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force and Niger Delta People’s Salvation Front, NDPVF/NDPSF, led by Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, have taken a swipe at President Goodluck Jonathan, over his recent declaration that “the convocation of a Sovereign National Conference, SNC, of ethnic nationalities to determine the terms of our collective existence was highly irrelevant and unnecessary. ” The groups in a statement by its spokesman, Mr Rex Anighoro, said, “we at NDPVF and NDPSF as well as our allies and coalition of associates, condemn in very strong terms, this highly rapacious statement and do consider it as most unfortunate and an absurdity of the extreme.” ”It is regrettable, that the Nigerian President has decided to engage in the macabre dance by shooting himself on the foot in his haste to satisfy certain monstrous political interest, who indeed will be so glad to hear and see the President make this kind of gaffe, that will pitch the President against the progressive revolutionary forces that conservative forces, which General Olesegun Obasanjo and certain Northern elements like Mallam Adamu Ciroma represent, hold with torrential acerbity ”. The groups, therefore, called on the Nigerian President “to retract this statement that has the proclivity of sparking violent protest across the Nigerian state ”. It also explained, “The call for SNC is not peculiar to the Niger Delta Region alone as the South West, South East regions and many Northern ethnic nationalities, Nigerians in Diaspora, as well as religious groups like the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, led by the visionary Papa Ayo Oritsejafor have also been in the forefront of the call for SNC ”. ”We wish to state without fear or favor and make it trenchantly pellucid that only the convocation of Sovereign National Conference (SNC) can solve Nigeria woes as the 1999 Constitution, which also created the so called National Assembly are all products of fraud imposed on us by the military aberration. We call on the Nigerian President to do what is true and right by ensuring the convocation of a Sovereign National Conference as this would be his greatest legacy. History beckons”, it said. ”We are further saddened that the Nigerian President could ascribe to the living memory of our revered hero and legend, the very symbol of the Niger _Delta Liberation Struggle, The Late Major Isaac Jaspero Adaka Boro, as a militant as well as tracing militancy to him. This statement is so despicable that one wonders what has happened to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who without doubt, is a beneficiary of the ideals and struggle that Major Isaac Jaspeo Adaka Boro lived and died for. We are totally alarmed and scandalized at this great betrayal ” |

We are further saddened that the Nigerian President could ascribe to the living memory of our revered hero and legend, the very symbol of the Niger_Delta Liberation Struggle, The Late Major Isaac Jaspero Adaka Boro, as a militant as well as tracing militancy to him. This statement is so despicable that one wonders what has happened to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who without doubt, is a beneficiary of the ideals and struggle that Major Isaac Jaspeo Lol!!! You guys are not yet alarmed or scandalised. This has being the reason why i would never support jonathan, as long he found himself in that party called PDP i dont care where he comes from. You guys have not seen anything yet, becoz when Jonathan will finish betraying all that ND stood, fought, and died for, jst to win 2011 election, and spending another 4years licking Northern a$$, jst to remain in power for his 8years tenure. Every ND will then understand what it really means to be alarmed and scandalised. I wonder what you guys really expected him to do or say, when his priority is to remain a president after 2011. To hell with your legacy and all you think you stood for. Maybe you people think OBJ was stupi.d when he searched among all the credible and powerful politicians in ND, but could only handpick GEJ. |

i have said it here times without number, jonathan is not that messiah we have been waiting for. 2007, obasanjo imposed the duo or yar adua and jonathan on us and this time arround, he is about imposing jonathan and another vegetable on us. WHY? this is another way of telling us that we(nigerians) do not know what is good for us. let nigerians be given that free hands to choose their own leaders. obasanjo is an aged criminal and is over due to retire. no where in the world that progress is combined with an obasanjo. he has ruled and shld give others the chance to rule. why will i vote a jonathan who is sure a third term in disguise. obasanjo is afraid of all his atrocities and is always fighting hard to have his men arround as a cover up. |
