1. Either your employer and you or only your employer must contribute no less than 18 percent of your salary to any Pension fund administrator of your choice. By law this retirement savings account (RSA) can only be accessed when you retire above the age of 50 years or you are out of employment for at least 4 months 2. Once your employer is contributing to your retirement saving account (RSA) then you can also assume your employer is complying with the compulsory group life insurance policy. This means there will be compensation in case you sustain permanent injury and can't work again. The beneficiary will also be compensated with group life cover and any fund in the RSA for death of staff too. 3. Please note that employers are not bound to purchase HMO (Health Management Organization) scheme for their staff. Although employers are encouraged to patronize HMO products that will cater for the overall health being of their worker and reduce the burden on their salary. 4. If you are Self-employed or independent by nature of your Job, go to an insurance company you are comfortable with and pick a life cover that can provide both compensation to your beneficiary and savings when you want to retire. 5. As you approaching retirement, do not rush to choose either Programmed withdrawals or Annuity. Get projected payment plan for both, compare and make the right choice. #ReasonAmWell when selecting any plan for HMO, Insurance and Pension (HIP) |
