the Ayanperuwa of Sotubo, Orile-Ijagba, Sagamu, Ogun State, Oba Abiodun Ajayi, has said former President Olusegun Obasanjo, remains the only personality who can reconcile warring legislators of the state house of assembly.



Oba Ajayi, who spoke with our correspondent in an interview on Monday, expressed deep concern that “a matter that can easily be resolved has been allowed to be heading towards a state of anarchy.”



The monarch believed that with Obasanjo’s political and societal’s stature, he could intervene in the legislative logjam and facilitate peace in the assembly.



He said, “After (Obafemi) Awolowo, the only true father and leader that we have in Ogun State and the South-West is former President Obasanjo. You must agree with me God has been very merciful to him. He was the Head of State and holds the record as one of the first African military leaders to successfully hand over power to a civilian regime.



“From (Gen. Sani) Abacha’s prison, he became the president. One could still relate with his achievements and contributions; even his role in ending the Nigerian Civil War.



“In other words, Obasanjo has played many parts, especially in ensuring that Nigeria remains one and is progressing. Ogun is his state and I believe that he holds the key to resolving the political crisis in the assembly.



“That is why I want to appeal to him to step into this matter and help us to put an end to the impasse in the assembly.”



Oba Ajayi noted that the enviable position of the state as the most peaceful in the South-West and Nigeria had come under threat as a result of the political logjam in the assembly, warning, that the stand of the House of Representatives to take over the Assembly might not resolve the crisis.







The monarch said, “You can see that the two sides have been holding to their positions without bending despite the intervention of the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Adeniyi Sonariwo, who is currently the Chairman of State Traditional Council.



“I agree that the gentlemen in the House of Representatives want peace in Ogun State but the method may lead to chaos in the Assembly. The two sides may continue their struggle to hold their meetings simultaneously in the House and this will not augur well for anyone.”

I dont think Obasanjo should be dragged into the mess created by Daniel for his own personal selfish reasons.Baba is a great leader among the yoruba’s & The nation he has stay clear.

but at the same time, he cannot continue to watch the mess deteriorate under that son of a Gun, I feel obj is just chilling sha, He knows what to do to Daniel.
