The reasons or starting a private school include the following:

REASON 1# Money

This is the major reasons you want to start a school!!!

If you are on this site; the major reason is money…

You want to be rich; to escape poverty; or to get even richer…

Most people believe that money is the key to happiness; even though I don’t believe that!

BUT;

Most people believe this and work towards it.

You don’t need to feel bad for this, after all, school is a business and businesses are done to make money.

In fact, no matter, what you believe, we all know that money is an important thing in life.

So, starting a school to achieve that goal is not a bad thing as long as you produce a quality education and you positively add to the lives of people.

The bad thing is to be selfish and greedy because, you aim for money! That’s what you should avoid.

REASON 2# Religion

Starting a school for the purpose of propagating a religion is noble indeed…

It’s a noble reason; it includes starting a school for propagating the various religions in the world today.

Starting a school for this reason may be problematic at times; that is if you think that the money is not necessary; but money is needed to run the school as the school needs to make money to keep the school afloat.

It can be problematic at times to combine the religious reason and money reason, but what you should know is, in as much as ITS IS GOOD to do things for God’s sake, money is used to run the school.

Therefore, you should know how to balance your religious mindset and making of money.

REASON 3# Charity

This is majorly done by charity organizations, philanthropists, etc., so as to provide education to those in need, those that cannot afford education.

It’s majorly found in war struck areas of the country. This kind of school is rare in Nigeria.

REASON 4# Environmental needs

Imagine a situation whereby; you relocate to a new environment, then you see schools around that you feel are well below your level and those that live around the place,

AND

You feel, “well, I can do much better” , then why not, if you can do better and in the process, become rich or even richer, then you got all the reason you need.

This kind of school starts when you find yourself in an area where a standard school is lacking, and there is a need for it, if you feel you can build an adequate and standard school; then, you are good to go.

OR

A case whereby you can’t find a school that meets your needs and because of that; you decided to start a school that will fulfill your need and solve the need of others in the environment. E.g. starting a Muslim school in a place where there are no Muslim schools.

REASON 5# Passion

Another important reason people start private school business is the passion…

Some are just passionate about taking care of children; so, they decide to start school to serve that purpose.

Some are just passionate about teaching and they decide that instead of being just a school teacher; they decide to go ONE BETTER and own a school.

All these are just examples of how people see passion as a major reason for starting a school.

REASON 6# Independence

This also is very important; it is referred to as being FREE FROM THE RAT RACE…

The race that others are in!

That is the job race; looking for jobs and struggling with a 9-5 work period; which leaves no time for you and also with little or no fulfillment and other things that are associated with such jobs.

This also is a situation whereby you are free from any boss!

You are your own boss; no time restrictions; nobody will pay you; you pay yourself and things like that, that you only get from starting your own school.

REASON 7# Creation of jobs

This also is another good reason why many people start schools, to be able to CREATE JOBS FOR THE UNEMPLOYED, thereby making an impact in the life of others.

The situations of things now are not really good, and many people are on the streets.

When you start a school; its an opportunity to take more people away from the streets and make a meaning to their life.

Although, you will also need to take adequate care of them to make sure that they also will provide adequate service to your school.

REASON 8# Innovation

This is also important!!!

Innovation is the order of the day; we are in the era of innovation!

This era, if you want to grow or even survive, you have to be innovative!

This apply especially to the private school industry with so much competition everywhere with the amount of schools around, you need to be innovative to stay ahead.

So; if you feel you are innovative enough, and you have a COMPETITIVE EDGE, then why not start your own school.

As I normally say “if you can do it better; then why not!”

First of all bro, I would advise you to always follow vthe website as it is dedicated to starting and growing your private school business...

2nd; to your question, cost of land depends on your location, those things depend on where you live, and a plot sure is enough for a start, you may decide to buy more though, if you wish or decide to make it very big and spacious from the start

The issue of cost varies as I said, but for a well standard school in allow cost cost area, may be up to 2 million, but you may surely decide to start small with far less money, and from there you grow to whatever length you wish..

Thirdly, I would to buy the private school business plan template I prepared, as I have simplified some things there that you only need to do your own research based on the informations in the business plan..

If the primary aim for starting a school isn't to impart knowledge and changing a school system to enable suitable learning, interacting and building a dependable future leaders..Then we don't have any reason to build schools.

That's the truth, but the fact is how are you supposed to build that without money.. money is needed to do so... No matter your wishes for your school, without money , that dream will shatter...

REASON 9# Decision making

Whether you are a teacher in a school, or you are a worker in a company; there is a big limit to the kind of decisions that you can make.

You don’t much power to make decisions!

The decision making goes to the boss and at the end of the day; you are forced to do something even though you seriously detest it, but for one reason or the other; you don’t really have a choice.

The scenario I just played to us is very common and in most cases, its painful and very annoying, so; it’s normal that you decide to start your own private school business because you want to be able to make your own decisions.

You want to be free; to be the boss; to pay yourself and determine how much others collect from you.

That exactly is a very common reason why people start their own schools.

Please kindly read this...
If you have a school, either primary or secondary and your primary aim is to get rich by swindling graduates off thier sweat, tears and causing them discomfort: By paying them below what you have promised, know that God is not mocked...

Your children will reap what you have sown
Do not be mislead. God is not mocked. Whatever a man sow, that is what he will reap (Galatians 6:7)

i hope to start a school in future. But it will definitely be IT oriented and provide compulsory skill acquisition center to deflate the joblessness in Nigeria.

Recently in NIGERIA, Number One on list is the major rationale behind the establishment of a school by private individual and nothing more to me again.. Education services have now turn to Business oriented.
Private mushroom schools starting from Primary level to Tertiary level of education are littered everywhere in NIGERIA. There is no proper check and control in the increase in all these mushroom Schools by the Ministry of Education.. Anybody can just owned and control a school of her or his own so far he or she could buy the ministry.. This has dented the value of Education in NIGERIA.

setting up a school should never be because of money.

Must everything always be money in business. how about setting up a school first to deliver quality education.

See your no1 reason, Money!

Typical Nigerian, no impact on society. just make money!

The Nigeria model of private schools, just like any other sector of the economy is profit driven, except it's being heavily subsidized as in the cases of: FG Unis, super rich churches (covenant & Babcock), super rich individuals (AUN & Igbenedion).. else you must vomit money to enjoy quality education.
