SUMMARY - Over the past few weeks, the cross-dresser has been seen flooding social media with posts about his upcoming birthday and how he intends to paint the city red with his grand celebration. As a matter of fact, he boasted of numerous slay queens that will be in attendance to grace this event but sadly, Bobrisky's highly anticipated birthday party, however, took an unexpected turn and was abruptly halted by the Nigerian Police over the weekend.  Several social media users were really torn apart at this sad turn of event particularly on his birthday of all days. According to the Lagos socialite in a post he shared via snapchat, he affirmed to have squandered over 19 million naira to put the party in place.

Several opinions have suggested that the disruption was orchestrated by the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe who earlier this week, in an interview with Vanguard, called the cross-dresser a 'national disgrace' and promised to deal with him ruthlessly. However,  Bobrisky responded to the DG  of NCAC singing his own praises of being associated with the 'DG's boss in the government' and as it stands, both of them were not on the same level. In fact,  he explicitly challenged Otunba to bring on whatever he planned that he would be waiting for him.

MY OPINION - Personally, I feel Bobrisky is doing too much to stay relevant in the social space despite being aware of how Nigerian culture and laws condemn transgenderism. Controversy seeks attention and that has been the path Bobrisky has been threading upon, which I feel has gotten him more than enough clout to avoid troubles and remain relevant for the time being. However, I do not buy the idea of him getting involved in gender-related issues or confronting any law enforcement body/leader. Being a transgender in a country like Nigeria is enough risk as an individual but why seek more clout by bullshit*ing and rubbishing people, particularly powerful individuals in the country, all for wokeness sake? Come on!

This brings me to ask what exactly he was thinking by challenging the DG of NCAC and making boast claims of knowing the DG's bosses? Confronting a national leader? What effrontery? Personally, if you ask me I'd just say Bobrisky is not a smart talker and seriously needs to be cautioned because he cannot just trash-talk anybody as he likes and think he can always get away with it. Apart from not being a smart talker, he is also not a smart thinker. Take a look at this, the DG threatens to deal with you a few days before your highly anticipated birthday and out of all the things wisdom brought to you, you decided to reply by challenging him to bring on whatever he had planned. Sincerely, I hated that after putting so much into planning, he then used his own hands to destroy it simultaneously. I think he deserved what he got but it might actually give him the opportunity to ruminate on his words before putting it out there ahead of next time.
