Shower Screens: What Is The Difference Between Them? by magicguestpost: 6:35am On Sep 05, 2019
Among the options that exist to remodel your main bathroom, are the types of shower screens that you want to install. Before choosing any of them in a hurry, it is important to do a little research and recognize what are the basic differences that exist between them, especially between screens without profiles, profiles, and semi-profiles.
The shower enclosures without profiles are composed of a tempered glass having between three-eighths of an inch thick. The greater weight and robustness of the glass help eliminate the need for heavy metal frames around it. Instead, the structure is held together by metal fasteners and hinges.
These shower screens without profiles are a great option to show beautiful tiles, and also provide an open and airy feeling. However, you should keep in mind that, since the glass is thicker, you may notice some opacity in it.
At the other end, we find the screens framed, or with profiles. In this type of screen, the thickness of the glass is between three-sixteenths and a quarter of an inch. Because the glass is thinner, it needs more metal brackets and hinges. Instead, it is surrounded by a metal frame that can be perfectly combined with the finishes of the other accessories in the bathroom.
Between both options is the semi-profiled shower screen. Shower screens of this type are a combination of the previous two, that is, they tend to have slightly thicker glass and a more visible frame, but to a large extent they allow an unobstructed view of the tile and the interior of the shower
WHAT ARE THE IDEAL SHOWER SCREENS FOR WET BATHROOM?
The difference between a wet bathroom and a shower is that a real wet room, space is completely open and the water flows through a floor drain, while a conventional shower usually has one or two screens glass and a low-level shower tray. Both options provide easy access and make a real statement in any bathroom or bathroom.
However, for a wet bathroom, although perhaps any type of screen could be used, a screen without profiles, especially if it is floating, creates a very elegant and modern appearance, and allows entry to both sides. This type has a single glass panel and floor to ceiling posts in a chrome finish.
