A couple of things to note.

1. Manchester United can no longer attract top tier talents. We don't play good football, we are not in the champions league, we are not competing for trophies and we don't have a manager with the pedigree to convince players to give him the benefit of doubt. As a result, we have to settle for players who are
a. British and can remember the glory days and appreciate our history.
b. Players in Europe that are not in the champions league.
c. Players out of Europe that are desperate to showcase their talents in Europe nut not necessarily the Champions league. Africans, Brazilians. E.t.C

Realistically, We have to settle for the likes of
Maddison
Chillwell
Mings
Rice
Fraser
Scott Brooks
Wilson
Grealish
Ward Prowse.

2. As much as I get what they are trying to do, I'd never understand retaining De Gea and giving him a new contract. At least let him run down his contract, by which time Henderson would be ready. Mata was another one. The man is finished. I understand Sanchez and Lukaku not fitting into the culture but you had the whole summer to plot replacements. It was a poor summer. Yes, Bissaka, James and Harry were all good pieces of business but that's only half of the story. At least one forward should have been brought in and Mata and DeGea shouldnt have been awarded new contracts.

3. It appears that this is a 5 year plan, similar to Klopp and Liverpool. The difference Klopp has pedigree and a clear pattern of play that was obvious from day one.

Everyones level is being exposed. Ole, the players, even the loyalty of the fans. I'd say this much, be realistic in your expectations with what this squad and this manager can actually do. I'd say anything above 8th is a bonus.

Develop thick skin fellas.. This season is not going to be a roller coaster. It's a downward spiral.
