The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Enugu on Monday, 9th September, dismissed the petition of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku against the Candidate of the PDP and former Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu ad the Senator Representing, Enugu West Senatorial District.

Juliet Ibekaku had approached the tribunal, challenging the outcome of the February 23rd election alleging it was mared by irregularities.

In their ruling, the three-man panel led by
Justice Haruna Kereng dismissed the petition as lacking in merit and stated that the petitioner failed to prove their petition beyond reasonable doubt.

The panel also awarded a fine of 750,000 against the petitioner, that’s 250,000 to each of the three respondents.
