Tribunal Begins Reading Judgement On Atiku’s Petition Against Buhari by Drinokrane: 10:27am On Sep 11, 2019
The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has begun the delivery of its much-anticipated judgement in the petition filed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Igbere TV reports.

The petitioners are challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the February 23 election.

Among those who are in court to witness the delivery of the judgement on Wednesday are the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari; and the national chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus.

National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu; and a former national chairman of the party, Bisi Akande, are also in Abuja for the verdict.

Igbere TV recalls that INEC had declared Buhari and the APC as winner of the election, having polled a total of 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku, who it said polled a total of 11,262,978 votes.

The five-man panel of justices of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, is headed by Justice Mohammed Garba, as Chairman.
