It’s no longer news that kidnappers have now found their space in Abuja. From one to two, now we’re counting more than six victims. But instead of finding an immediate solution to this, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has chosen to play politics with these lives.

In a reaction to the recent events, he said the Federal Capital Territory was safe, secure and not under any form of siege. That came despite the rise in abductions and rise in theft of vehicles across the city.

One of the victims, Miss Aisha Ardo, reportedly paid $15,000 to secure her release on Sunday night. She was abducted at a popular supermarket in, Asokoro, on Saturday. That’s within the city.

Also, two teenagers returning from an Islamic school at Wuse Zone 6, around 6 pm on Saturday were also said to have been abducted.
