35-years after the Eha-Amufu-Nkalagu road was abandoned by previous governments, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has set another record with the massive reconstruction of the road, which links Enugu to Ebonyi.
Findings by Igbere TV revealed that the hitherto dilapidated road which was last maintained by the Governor Jim Nwobodo led administration of old Anambra State is now wearing a new look.
Igbere TV news crew, who were in transit to Ebonyi State to cover an event, had to stop at the project site for an on-spot assessment.
Some members of the community who were interviewed by our correspondents, could not hide their joy but heaped praises on Governor Ugwuanyi.
One of them, Mr. Emeka Odoh who is a civil servant in the community has this to say; “We are very grateful to the Governor for remembering us after 35 years of abandonment by past administrations.”

“This road was done last by Governor Jim Nwobodo. We made complaints about its bad state for many years now but it seems those governments were not interested. Thank God for giving us a loving Governor like Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who always understands the yearnings of the people he governs. This is a sign of better things to happen in our community”, he added.
On her part, Mrs Jane Abonyi, a petty trader, said, “Governor Ugwuanyi is an answer to our prayer. We the traders find it so hard to move our products to the town where people demand for it. Eha-Amufu people are doing well in Agriculture but the bad road is always a very big problem to us. God will bless Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for remembering us.”
An indigene of Ebonyi State, Mr Onyeka Okoro, added, “Since I was born, I haven’t seen any kind of work being done on this road. This road has become so bad, especially during rainy season. The Government of Enugu State Government has really done very well by working on this road. The people of Ebonyi State will be happy with this development, as this road connects to Ebonyi State through Nkalagu”.
The 8.8 Km road was commissioned by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Monday, 16th September 2019 amidst wild jubilation by locals.
Igbere TV recalls that the Enugu State Government led by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, had earlier made a campaign of intensive rural development in the state.
