URINE ANALYSIS

The urine is an important specimen in the screening and diagnosis of certain conditions in pregnancy.

The conditions of utmost importance to the obstetrician include:
1. Diagnosis of Infections in Pregnancy.
2. Screening of Hypertensive Disorders in pregnancy
3. Screening for Gestational Diabetes.

Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) � in Pregnancy �
It's common to have this kind of infection in Pregnancy partly due to the peculiarity of the female urogenital anatomy (short and straight urethra) and reduced immunity in pregnancy.

UTI can be symptomatic when associated with lower abdominal pain with or without fever, pain on urination and frequency of urination.
It can also be assymtomatic when above symptoms are absent and the woman thinks that all is well���.

DANGERS � OF UTI IN PREGNANCY
1. Pyelonephritis: this is an inflammatory condition affecting the kidney. This follows an upward migration of the bacteria from the urinary bladder to the kidney. The pain associated with this condition is better told than experienced.

2. Miscarriage � and Preterm� Birth

After wrecking havoc in the kidney, the organism swims to the heart from where it is transported to the womb.
Here it initiates processes that result in contractions and miscarriage or Preterm delivery depending on the age of the pregnancy.....✍️ ��� Let me go and buy pen, ink don finish �
