Four final year students from the department of mechanical engineering in the federal university of agriculture makurdi,Benue state designed a voice controlled assisted solar powered wheelchair as their final year project. The wheelchair is designed to help move the sick,disabled and aged from one place to another via the control button and the voice app which can be operated by user or a third party via the voice app. The solar panel supplies power to the motors which drives the rear wheel. This wheelchair can be used for indoor and outdoor purposes and the solar panel can be detached and swapped from monocrystalline to polycrstalline depending on the geographical location of the user.
