Question On Speaking In Tongue(s). by Smithwilliams826: 12:29pm On Sep 22, 2019 |
The 11disciples of Jesus Christ, after receiving the spirit of God and began speaking in tongues, they spoke in different languages and the people understood them. All what they said, everyone (non believers and believers) at that time understood what they said, some thought they were drunk and thousands of people repented. Why is it that in this our modern time, people who are speaking in tongues, whenever they speak we who are listening won't understand a thing? All what we hear is Shakamalariammwas.... and so on. |

Smithwilliams826: The problem some of you have is that you don't read scripture with indepth understand. If you read the passage where the Apostles were said to be speaking in tongues.... You will read where it was stated that "....and began to speak with the OTHER TONGUES, as the Spirit GAVE THEM UTTERANCE" So it's the TONGUE that the Spirit gives you'll utter. What if the Spirit didn't give you the language others understand? Apostle Paul shield more light on this by saying "some were given the gift of INTERPRETATION of TONGUES", so if there's a need for INTERPRETATION of TONGUES then your assertion is wrong. |

Smithwilliams826:Simply! What your church pastors and so-called spirit filled church goers speak is of gibberish and no language/tongue of any kind. |

Smithwilliams826: You have spoken the truth except the highlighted: The total number of disciples speaking in tongues that day was 120 including the 12 apostles. A brother named Mattias replaced Judas Iscariot! Please READ Act Chapter 1 verse 15 to Chapter 2 verse 4 1 Like 1 Share |

Kobojunkie: I'm sure if you're to be there in 1st century when the followers of Christ were speaking in tongues, you'll call it gibberish as such has never happened with the people of God before. Well, God is bigger than you, so God has already said earlier how people will speak in different tongues and used Apostle Paul to shield more light on it. 1 Corin 14 |
