The Honorable Minister for the Federal Ministry of Information and Communication in the person of Dorothy Nkem Akunyili has picked Senate forms and Expression of Interest form at the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] National Headquarters located at Wadata Plaza in Abuja. The Honorable Minister, according to reports, has joined the senatorial race in Anambra State.

In particular, the Federal Minister visited personally with the former governor of Anambra State in the person of Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju. Our source reveals that she sort the support of the former governor after having told him that she intends to join the senatorial race for the central senatorial district in Anambra – of which the former governor responded by assuring her of his support.

When Prof Dora Akunyili was contacted via the telephone she was boarding at the London Heathrow Airport on her way back from New York. She did not respond directly to the question of her secret aspiration to vie for the Senatorial seat. Her response was that she “could not talk freely” where she was – that she will talk with us later.

Presidential sources that have become aware of her secret ambition reveal that Prof Dora Akunyili had lobbied for the 2010 gubernatorial ticket from the PDP to contest in the February 6th 2010 election in Anambra.
