Festival of friends from social media, popularly known as Lagos Hangout is set for a fourth straight edition this December. The announcement was made this week by the convener, Olumide Glowville.

The annual party which started in 2016 gathers people who regularly converse virtually on social media to meet in a physical location, have fun, make merry and network. Facebook users were in ecstatic mood when the announcement was made via the convener’s profile last week.

This year’s party has been themed “As E Dey Hot”. According to Olumide Glowville, the theme borrows from the popular slang among youths which he interprets to mean “taking advantage of the many opportunities that abound around us every day.”

In his words, “Lagos Hangout provides an opportunity to take friendship from virtual to physical. A lot of us make good friends from social media, but we never realize their worth until some more effort is made to known them better. This event creates that opportunity to put faces to the names we see every day on our social media feeds, get up close and personal, and explore different ways to building meaningful real-life relationships.”

The event which has attracted several hundreds of social media users in past editions is expected to keep growing, and attendees are promised bigger fun than ever experienced before.

For the first time, the event will be happening in the Lekki neighbourhood of Lagos. Previous editions which have held in Ikeja and Surulere were well attended and organizers are bracing for a bigger guest list this year.
A lot of fun in form of music, dance, food, drinks, games and two special surprises are on the line up for this year’s event.
