RevolutionNow protest convener and SaharaReporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, on Thursday, commenced a contempt suit against the Director-General of the Department of State Service, Yusuf Bichi, for allegedly disobeying the order granting him bail.

Sowore who has been apprehended and kept in the custody of DSS since August 3, 2019 on the alligation of calling for revolution through a protest scheduled to hold on September 5, had been granted baill by justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday.

The Judge, having dismiss DSS’ Objection grant Sowore bail, on the condition that he would drop his passport in the court registry.

He(sowore) had, on Wednesday summited his passport through his lawyer, Femi Falana, to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court.

But 24 hour after meeting the bail term he is yet to be released from the DSS’s custody.

SaharaReporters publisher, through his lawyer, Falana, on Thursday gave a “Notice of consequence of court order” which is to be served on the DSS warning him that he could be jailed for continuing to violate the court order.

Sowore and former presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections were on September 3 apprehended by the DSS on his call for revolution in a protest scheduled for September.
