A. A rich man buying Iphone X for the purpose of just making and receiving calls, texts, mails, SNs, and other internet related task

B. A rich man buying Xiaomi Mi A3 for the same purpose as in A.

Wise wealthy and rich people don't have to show off before people know them for who they are. The Ashawos and the Y.boys you just mentioned do not buy expensive things because they are necessary. They do so to show off, trend, and compensate for the very low/nonexitent prestige their job has in the society.

There is this saying; For a rich man who doen't know what to AFFORD and what to AVOID, his wealth is temporal.

Successful rich people (legit business CEOs) we know and hear about today wouldn't have been what they are today had they spent/ continued to spend EXTRAVAGANTLY.
