The speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly RT. Hon. Tonye Emmanuel Isenah has described the move by some members of the Assembly to impeach him as illegal and laughable.

The speaker who said it was unconstitutional to sit when the house had adjourned indefinitely and without the mace which is the symbol of authority, expressed shock at the level of desperation of some politicians bent on getting power through dubious means.

He advised members to disregard rumours pending when the house will reconvene.

He further explained that Bayelsa state was more important than the interest of any single person and it was time Bayelsans took their destiny in their hands.

He called on all his supporters to remain calm as he remains Speaker of the state assembly.
