Affordability is a vital requirement for choosing the University we desire. Even if you wouldn't mind the best University, if your sponsor can't afford it, it's of no use.
So how can we get a good and affordable Institution?
Exact cost cannot be reached because of each University having different prices and costs for different amenities.
So the figures are over 90% accurate.
I'll be showing a simple breakdown of the basic amenities each student starting University is required to pay for and have.
1. Accommodation
2. Medical fees
3. Dues
4. Admission acceptance fee
5. Library
6. Union dues

1. FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES - The total fees for all the disciplines fall between N150,000 - N500,000 (this includes Medicine)

2. PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES - N1,200,000 - N4,500,000

3. TUITION FREE UNIVERSITIES ABROAD (Let me do a simple breakdown for this one)
A) Tuition fee - FREE
B) Union fee - €150 - €350 (N60,000 - N140,000)
C) Flight fare - $600 - $1000 (N240,000 - N360,000)
D) Medical/Accommodation - €600 -€700 (N240,000 - N240,000
Total - Between N540,000 - N740,000
So you see, all that fear about cost of studying overseas especially in Europe is unfounded. Of course, if it's in USA or UK na die.
For the study overseas, it has its perks
1. STUDY WORK - If you choose to work as a student, you will be given specific work hours per week which can earn you between €300 - €500 monthly
2. You can apply and easily get their SCHOLARSHIP FUNDING PACKAGE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS. Scholarship funds ranges between $5,000 - $10,000. Others scholarship funds pay monthly for your welfare between €500 - €700
3. At graduation, you have the option of getting IMMEDIATE EMPLOYMENT, START A BUSINESS or return back to your country.
From the looks of things, I know which I would pick.
Which would you like to go with?
