*_NIGERIA @ 59 : ADEBUTU SALUTES NIGERIANS ON INDEPENDENCE, PREACHES UNITY_*

As today marks exactly fifty-nine years proclamation of Nigeria's independence which brought an end to British rule; a member of the 8th National Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Oladipupo Adebutu has joined other patriotic Nigerians in the celebration.

According to a statement issued by his media assistant, Afolabi Orekoya on Monday, Adebutu urged Nigerians to be prayerful for the country and believe in her return to the right path.

"I congratulate Nigerians on the occasion of Nigeria's 59th Independence anniversary. As a nation, we have to thank God for the giant strides made so far. Nigeria as a nation has a lot more to do in order to overcome the numerous challenges - terrorism, sluggish economic growth, youth unemployment and many others. These problems look almost insurmountable but of course they are not. We only need a good leadership to transform the misfortunes of our dear nation into fortunes. While making efforts to build a perfect union along the lines of the vision of our founding fathers, we as Nigerians must remain together".

Adebutu further charged Nigerians to work relentlessly against violence. He admonished them to always be proud of their country and desist from acts that are inimical to the continued corporate existence of the country.

"As we celebrate Nigeria's independence today, there can be no better way to mark the day than to resolve to be good leaders and followers as it is been widely said that people get the kind of leaders they deserve", he said.
