OHANAEZE NDIGBO PRESIDENT GENERAL, NNIA NWODO, IWUANYANWU AND IWA PRESIDENT DR NWACHUKWU ANAKWENZE MAKE CASE FOR IGBO PRESIDENCY AS EYO ITA, PHILIP EFFIONG , EMMA AGUMA AND OTHERS HONORED AT M I OKPARA INAUGURAL LECTURE AT UMUAHIA

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo world wide Chief Nnia Nwodo , Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, and Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze , the President of the IGBO WORLD ASSEMBLY WORLD WIDE have all harped on the need for the next President of Nigeria to come from the South East zone of the country in the spirit of equity, justice and fairness.

The trio made the position at the Michael Okpara leadership and Good Governance lecture held at Umuahia , Abia state at the weekend.
The event witnessed lectures, speeches , goodwill messages and other side attractions.

The trio also called on present political leaders in the East to emulate the qualities , humility and candour of Dr M I Okpara which made him leapfrog the old Eastern region to the fastest economy in the developing world in the 60s
They called for support to the organisers of the event to make it an annual one.

The event was attended by leaders from the former Eastern region and friends of the East from other parts of the country.
The event also witnessed award of honors to some distinguished sons and daughters of the old Eastern region among whom were Dr M I Okpara, Prof Eyo Ita , Gen JT U Aguiyi Ironsi, Gen Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu,Dr Akanu Ibiam ,Chief Emma Aguma , Chief Sam Mbakwe all of whom earned post humous award. Others included Barr Nnia Nwodo, Chief Emma Iwuanyanwu, Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze , Peter Obi, Ogbonnaya Onu, Prince Erondu Uche, Donald Duke and other eminent Easterners. Some friends of the East also got honors.
The event was organised by the Eastern Peoples Consultative Forum , Michael Okpara Centre for Effective leadership and the World Igbo leadership, education and cultural council (WILECC).

In the spirit of one Nigeria its their turn to rule. Some enemies withing are pushing for their brother without considering other peoples feeling , we shall see.

I find it very difficult to reconcile Igbo leadership’s quest for Nigeria’s presidency and what Igbo folks post on social media platforms. Almost all popular Igbo handles on Nairaland have posted repeatedly that they will back a northerner for the 2023 presidency. They even claimed no Igbo politician will seek the Igbo party’s (PDP) presidential ticket in 2023.

Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership and ordinary Igbo folks (especially those that support ipob) should harmonize their position and stop blowing hot and cold. Most importantly, the entire south should unite to ensure power returns to the south in 2023.
