UNIZIK SUG E-VOTING: YAPJEN LAUDS VICE CHANCELLOR, DEAN STUDENTS AFFAIRS, AND PRESIDENT ELECT.

A good governance and human right advocacy group, Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) has lauded the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof. Esimone and the Dean Students Affairs, Prof. Achebe for pioneering the first electronic voting in student union government election in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.

*In a press release made available to newsmen in Awka, Anambra State, Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu, De Peoples Advocate and the Executive Director of Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) poured encomiums on the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe Prof. Charles Esimone and Prof. Nonso Achebe for overseeing a peaceful conduct of the student union election and for setting the pace through the use of electronic voting.*

The Peoples Advocate equally congratulated the student union president elect for breaking a sixteen year old jinx of a law student heading the affairs of the students body.

In what he described as a peaceful and transparent process, the model United Nations Ambassador stated that the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman should borrow a leaf from the pacesetting Unizik Vice Chancellor on the conduct of the poll.

Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu urged the newly elected Student Union Government president, Comrade Jude Samuel to prioritize the welfare of the students while building a synergy between the University authority and the students.

He specifically urged him to follow the footsteps of some past president who distinguished themselves and comfortably wrote their names in the sands of time, particularly, Comrade Omenugha who introduced tricycle into the University transport system, Comrade Nwambu Henry who introduced a free transport services to special (Visually impaired) students in the university.

Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu noted that with the determination zeal and passion of Prof. Charles Esimone, The Vice Chancellor that Unizik will truly become the number one sought after university in Nigeria.
