The Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has reacted to the scandalous Sex For Grades documentary involving some Lecturers in West Africa Universities.

While reacting to the video through his Twitter handler, the Speaker commended the efforts of BBC Africa Eye for exposing the underground scourge in our institutions.

According to him, we all owe debt of gratitude to the journalists involved in the documentary for helping to expose the act.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to the @BBCAfrica journalists whose efforts have exposed this scourge. Their efforts are a reminder of what can be achieved when good people say 'enough is enough' and act to make it so. #SexForGrades”

“Our higher institutions where this culture of abuse have been allowed to thrive must also acknowledge their responsibility and act to put an end to these shameful practices. We owe our children that much.”

“These revelations call for a moment of reckoning, not only for those lecturers whose abuse of their position and the trust of their students has been caught on tape, but those who are still hiding in the shadows.”

“The revelations in the @BBCAfrica #SexForGrades documentary brings to the fore despicable practices that have victimised too many young people, denied them their sense of self worth and left them with psychological wounds that often never heal.”

In another development, one of the undercover journalist, Kiki has cried out for help over a death threat message she received. She disclosed it to saharaporters.
