Wetin De Worry Starcomms? by Chuks84(m): 3:00pm On Nov 05, 2010 |
What is wrong with starcomms? Last month my internet connection was deactivated for no just cause. Upon inquiry i was told that my data line was suspended because of spam activities. What spam activities? I asked them, they told me copyright infringement. I ended up filling an undertaken form promising not to visit the so called spam sites. without really knowing what they were. Even the staff at their abuja office were unable to explain. Its my understanding that ISP's block sites that are supposed to be illegal. They don't go disconnecting clients without notice. This has happened to a lot of people i know and they have discarded their lines as a result of this. So please my fellow nairalanders. Do you have any idea of sites i am not supposed to visit? I would really hate for my line to be disconnected again. |

Do you download from torrent sites like bittorrent, bitcomet, uttorent etc? If you do then that's the reason you were blocked. |

I actually do, I visit thepiratebay all the time, can't do without it. Actually I suspected it was because of the torrents so I've deleted my utorrent but its saddening that starcomms cannot come out and give a concrete reason for disconnecting me. |
