BISMILLAHI RAHMANI RAHEEM
Allah has blessed all muslims with innumerable things. He has made some periods, time of harvest. Part of the harvest time for the muslims include:
1. Ramadan
2. Lailatul Qadr
3. Yaomu Jumuah
4. Last 3rd part of the night
5. First 10 days of DhulHijja

In Suratul Fajr v 1-4, Allah says:
1. I swear with the dawn
2. By the 10 nights
3. By even and odd
4. By the night when it departs
Most of the Qur’an exegetes agree that the 10 nights implies that of the Dhul Hijja. Jaabir bn Abdullah reported the Prophet (SAW) to have said it is the nights preceeding the killing of the ram, witr means Yaomu Arafa and Shaf’I is the day of killing ram, Ibn Nasai reported this Hadith.

DUTIES OF THE MUSLIMS DURING THE FIRST 10 DAYS OF DHUL HIJJA
Abdullah ibn Abass reported the Prophet (SAW) to have said “Of all the days Allah has created that we do good deeds, none has reward more than that of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijja.” The Sahabas asked “Oh Prophet, even more than fighting in the cause of Allah? The Prophet answered in affirmation and said except for a man who left his home with his soul and belongings and died there with all he took there. This person has reward that is tantamount to that of First 10 days of Dhul Hijja.

Abdullah ibn Umar reported the Prophet (SAW) to have said “There is no day Allah loves muslims to do ggod deeds more than that of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijja. Because of this, be plentiful in TAHLIL( LAILAILA LAH), TAKBIR (ALLAHU AKBAR) , and TAHMID (ALHAMDULILAH), Reported by Imam Ahmad.
We should know that Yaomu Arafa is included in these days as Jabir reported that the Prophet (SAW) said The best of all days is Yaomu Arafa. Reported by Ibn Hibban in his Sahih.
Other goods on these days include:
1. Fasting and Qiyaamulai. Abu Huraira reported the Prophet to have said the best days Allah loves His worship is that of first 10 days of Dhul Hijja. If you fast a day in it, it is like fasting for a year, if you observe Qiyamulail (Observing nawafil in the mid night) in it, it is like standing for Lailatul Qadr. By Thirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Bayhaqi
2. Reading the Quran
3. Commanding good and forbidding evil.
4. Sadaqa etc
Zaid bn Jubair would be high in worship until he experiences fatigue. Alsi Abu Huraira and Abdullahi bn Umar would walk in the streets, markets chanting ALLAHU AKBAR LAHU AKBAR LAHU AKBAR, LAILAHAILA LAH, ALLAHU AKBAR LAHU AKBAR, WALILAHI L HAMD.
On the day of Arafa muslims are expected to fast. Prophet (SAW) said Allah uses this to wipe off a year sin. Imam Shafi’I (RL) recommended travelers to fast on that day too.
Brethren in faith, during this period, let us refrain from vain talks, evil deeds, looking things that are forbidden, etc.
The Prophet recommended us to always say “LAILA ILA LAHU WAHADAU LA SHARIKA LAHU LAHU L MULK WALAHU L HAMD BIYADI L KHAIR WAHUWA ALA KULLI SHAIN QADIR. Imam Ahmad

It depend on your strenght; if you are capable to fast from the first day of Dhulhijja to the day of Arafat that is the best, but if not, fast only on Arafat day. May Allah accept our Ibadah. Ameen
