BEARS Foundation’s 2006 National Medical Program In
Nigeria
(October 1st 2006 to October 15th & October 23rd to
November 6th 2006)

Body Enhancement Annual Reconstructive Surgery (BEARS)
Foundation is the first non government organization
founded in Nigeria, West Africa dedicated to using
plastic surgery and other specialties in medicine to
treat and correct deformities of less privileged
African men, women and children in West, Central and
Southern Africa at no cost to them or their families.

Within the last 2 years, we have organized surgeries
and corrected over 60 patients with various
deformities ranging from cleft lip, cleft palate and
syndactyly to correcting deformities of victims of
contaminated kerosene explosions in Nigeria (please
see web site). We have been able to accomplish these
great achievements with the assistance of doctors and
nurses that volunteer from California.

BEARS is currently preparing for its 2006 medical
program which will be taking place in Nigeria, West
Africa.

This is a Free National medical mission which will be
beneficial to all less privileged Nigerians from all
parts of the Nation. In order to achieve this, we will
create accessibility to the medical teams for indigent
people coming from different areas of the country by
dividing the 36 States country into two sections.
Northern and Southern sections and each section will
have one comprehensive medical team.

The medical mission will be in two parts. There will
be a Northern medical team and a Southern team. Both
teams will start their medical mission at different
times and each team’s medical mission will last for
two weeks. There will be one week interval between the
completion of the first team’s mission and the
commencement of the second team’s mission.

The first comprehensive medical team working in the
Northern part of Nigeria will start on October 1st
2006 to end on October 15th. There will be a break of
one week between October 16th to October 22nd, during
which the first team will leave and the 2nd team’s
medical mission to commence from October 23rd to
November 6th 2006.

We need volunteer doctors, nurses in the following
specialties:

• Plastic Surgery
• Trauma/ER
• General Surgeons
• Cardiologist
• Pediatricians
• OBYGN
• Urologists


BEARS Foundation Will Pay For All Accommodation,
Feeding, Security While In Nigeria, Visa Processing,
Etc. Except For Air Travel Tickets To

BEARS Foundation is seeking for concerned medical
personnel’s to donate their time and expertise for
this program. We encourage volunteers to assist us in
getting free medication and any other medical or
surgical supplies or instruments that can be spared
for this program.
