Dennyjuff: Hello All, I have been reading a couple of conflicting views about birth certificates for this process and I am not sure which one is correct. I plan to claim sibling points and we both have certificates issued at birth. My question is whether I still need to get an attestation from NPC as I have seen many comments advising this but I was of the opinion that one should go the attestation route only if they cannot provide a birth cert. My sibling's certificate looks pretty much the same as mine (same local govt issued at birth). I would appreciate help please.

From what I have seen in sister threads, its best you go get the attestation issued by NPC and also to be on a safer side. Mobabaola: |

Dennyjuff:passport, academic transcripts. If someone reduces age by lets say 10. His school graduation may show he graduated at 14. They ask for 10 years activities for a reason after ITA 4 Likes |

Has anyone tried cancelling and getting some sort of refund for IELTS? I initially paid for my wife to write, but we’ve changed our minds. We called the phone number on the mod IeLtS site but we were asked to show police or doctor’s report showing concrete reasons why we can’t write the exam. Has anyone had the same issue and how did you go ahead to resolve? |

Dennyjuff: They have their requirements. I think an affidavit from a federal high court is one of them and it is not free too. Just locate their office in your state and make enquiries |

Exmay02: It's not an assumption, as WES evaluates D.E as 2 or more certificate before and their evaluation isn't consistent on such these days. If yours isn't based on assumption, show a recent report that states otherwise in order not to mislead people. 3 Likes |

Kekereekun123: I concur to this... I used only birth certificate for mine and my eligibility check has been approved. However, don't know if different VOs could ask for different documents. Will advise you upload your birth certificate for now and process the attestation to have it handy. They will always issue an ADR if it's needed. |

Mobabaola: Hello Mobabaola, As long as both birth certificates are government issued, it will certainly fly. Thus, it won't if it was issued by a private organization at the time of birth. In other words, NPC is responsible for people whose birth falls on or beyond 1992. If possible, swear an affidavit in support of the birth certificates. Either of your parents should do this except otherwise. All the best |

I used birth certificate for my application....from my GCMS, all is well. I do not think there is any need for the NPC....especially for FSW. Mobabaola: |

seyi2020:The exam is one and same for both BC and IDP, with same marking scheme. Legend has it though that IDP writing module graders are more liberal with marks that BC. I'm not sure how people came to that conclusion. I did however take IDP and who knows if I aced it because of the aforementioned legend. Maybe paper based vs CBT should be your worry instead as your level of comfortability with either of them could impact your exam greatly 2 Likes |
