Idea: I Am Not A Yahoo Boy Campaign(PR Campaign Against Police Harassment) by Nobody: 3:00pm On Oct 14, 2019
Aim of the campaign: to stop police harassment of men and women who works in the tech industry because of them carrying their laptop in public.

Back ground: Young men and women who work in the tech industry in Nigeria have been going through lot of challenges especially harassment and brutality from member of the police force because they are always seen using their laptops in public, this have concluded that these young people are yahoo boys and yahoo girls, we should not blame the police because 99% of internet frauds in Nigeria is been done through a laptop or phone, the police are doing their jobs

PR Strategy to stop Police harassment of those who work in the tech industry

1)Create an Ad on all social media platforms creating awareness about the I am not a yahoo boy campaign.

2)partner with influential social media personal, reputable celebrities with good standings, lets these people tweet using the #iamnotayahooboy, celebrities can take a picture of them holding a postcard with the hashtag #iamnotayahooboy. This will create awareness about police harassment of the tech industry and will bring out a conversation.

3)Create a tv ad with workers in the tech community, they can tell the public, what they do and why they have to work with the their laptops always: each programmer or worker in the tech community can tell a story about why they always need their laptop

The story ad could go something like this
My name is ………, I work with…………company and we solve issues to make the world a better place, my laptop is where I work, my laptop is my office, my laptop is not for yahoo yahoo but to create exciting products to make Nigeria a better place for everyone.

4)large billboards in business areas with the campaign slogan and picture of different popular Nigeria programmers with a short story and slogan of the campaign, telling the public what he does with his laptop daily and what he uses it for.

5) Mr akin Alabi is a tech lover, owner of a big sporting company and politician, the tech community can lobby him to create bills that will support the tech industry and also create laws that give stiffer punishment to those who commit internet fraud(the present laws we have is weak)

Mr Njoku, the founder of Irokotv donated 10 million naira to fight against police harassment, instead of using the money to pay some lawyers to arrest the policemen(which is good) or pay foreignt press to write an article about it, it is important to know that this is a local problem and need to be solved locally, it will be better to use the money for PR and create awareness about what the tech community does.
