The Federal Government and the organised labour have reached an agreement over the consequential adjustment of the new minimum wage. The minister of Labour and Employment (State), Festus Keyamo disclosed this on his twitter handle Thursday night. Keyamo, who tweeted during the negotiation between the FG and Labour said: “After some delicate negotiations (with both Ministers as conciliators), the government and Labour have finally reached an agreement on the consequential adjustment of other wages following the implementation of the enhanced minimum wage of 30, 000. “we are working on the communique,” he said. What now happens to the over 90% of Nigerians that will not benefit from this increase. On top of this, there are increases and introduction of new taxes everywhere and the government workers continue to put us all into deeper inflation. A bag of rice will now be at least 30k after the implementation. This increase is simply a Greek gift but who suffers it more, the ordinary Nigerians and non government workers. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Immediately the industrial action was averted, I knew that it won't stand again. When the minimum wage was #18,000.00, a bag of rice was about #6,000.00. Now at #30,000.00, a bag is sold at #27,000.00. Meaning that one just works for a bag of rice in a month, no ingredients. God will help us. 56 Likes 2 Shares |

If Labour have not be compromise, they will have use the last election as a bargaining chip. Imagine a strike when election campaign is heating up. I know this country will get it right one day! One day! 10 Likes 1 Share |

These people quote percentage as if it is something big deal. At 100% = 30,000 50% =15,000 25%= 7,500 12.5%= 3,750 6.25% = 1,875 So because una wan add 2000 naira to salary,it took 4yrs.With tax on everything,Very soon Agbero will start collecting VAT from passenger. Meanwhile it is not hard to Budget 25% or entire Nigeria annual Budget to National Assembly. Kontinue,God will judge all una. 23 Likes 2 Shares |

Something very important still remained unsolved about this whole Minimum Wage Implementation issue.. And That is The Unified Salary Structure across the Nation, both for Federal Civil Service and the States Civil Services.. And the NLC and FG are just seriously avoiding to discuss about it. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Some States in Nigeria have very poor Salary Structure. And with these new percentages for the increment of the salaries for the specific grade-levels,, some states would just go back to their drawing-boards and reduce their salary structure a lot further, so that they can claim to the media that they are paying the increments. 2 Likes |

paying the #30000 that is not the problem the problem is what Will come letter after start paying the#30000?government will increase tax,and the manufacturing industries will increase there produced, and schools will increase there own too,the solution is the government should reduce the price of food and house rent, government they are like devil, devil will give u something with right hand and collect it left hand they never give free rather they will collect double, they will increase the price of fuel the closures of boarders is other sign, because is another ways of getting revenue, and making food price to increase this is just small compare to when they then will start paying the #30000 after labour agree that is the end, the main problems the common man is food and accommodation if the common man will have these reduced then he/she can plan with his remaining money that he/she has, increase what of the private works are they not going to pay tax a many of the Nigerian that are working in public sector what of the Nigerians that are neither working in public non private works what will be there faith some Nigerian are hand worker's and some Nigerian are business men and women, what will be there Faith? 3 Likes 2 Shares |
