The member representing Abak/Etim-Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and immediate past President of African Media Network (AMNETT) Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Umanah has been honoured with a Credence Award by ECOWAS Youth Parliament (EYP) for his contributions to the furtherance of development communications and societal transformation, particularly his support to youths and students.

Presenting the award during a Courtesy Visit on the Federal lawmaker at his office in Abuja, the deputy Speaker of the youth parliament, Amb. Ola Kolawole described Hon. Aniekan Umanah as a role model, icon and pillar of support to the youths, pace setter, pathfinder whose humility is worthy of emulation by ECOWAS Youths.

Kolawole said EYP annually recognizes the sons and daughters, institutions, with enviable scorecard of achievements, adding that Umanah meritoriously made the 2019 list following his leadership prowess and support for African youths.

Responding, the Federal Lawmaker and media guru thanked the Youth Parliament for considering him worthy of the honour and dedicated the award to the African youths, particularly the youths of Abak/Etim-Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency for trusting him with their mandate. Umanah called on youths across the continent to position themselves for leadership through sound moral, education and contribution to the overall development of Africa. The lawmaker charged African youths to rise up to the challenge of terrorism by condemning same and ensuring they are not used for destructive endeavours.
