Driven by their passion for Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi state, and the visionary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor. Chinedum Nwajiuba, which according to the donors has translated to the rapid infrastructural development in the University, a group of three male traders and a woman (Matron) from Izzi, Ebonyi state, Messrs.’ Dioke Joseph, Obinna Madu, Umeh Onyebuchi and Mrs Akpa Chinyerem, have made donation of 900 bags of cement, to support on-going projects in the university.

Mr Obinna Madu, spokesman of the team, who were led on a visit to the Vice-Chancellor in his office by Mrs. Okonkwo, staff of Faculty of Engineering, AE-FUNAI on Monday 14th October, 2019, said they were in the new university in 2013 on invitation but saw nothing impressive about the school. The quartet expressed delight that presently AE-FUNAI has experienced visible transformation in infrastructural development, academic excellence, and discipline and could be counted among the shinning universities in Nigeria. He said these were simply the outcome of the visionary leadership and commitment to service driven by Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba, the active Vice-Chancellor. They asked to be counted as fans of the university and promised to continue to support the good work going on in the university, regretting that Prof. Nwajiuba will be missed when he leaves, but will be much remembered for the legacy he will leave behind.

Prof. Nwajiuba, impressed by their kind gesture thanked the donors for the support and their very kind words of encouragement. He prayed that God will bless them even more abundantly, and assured them that the bags of cement will be into projects that will ever attract God’s blessing as we put such places in use. VC, immediately asked the Directorate of Physical Planning, Works and Services to apply the bags of cement to the on-going university Crèche/Nursery and Primary School, and Anglican Chaplaincy, so that each day the children pray and services are conducted in the chaplaincy, God will continue to bless their intentions and endeavors.
