The Michael's Foundation Launches Campaign Against Rape In Oyo State. by Antivenereal: 9:29pm On Oct 21, 2019
A Non Governmental Organization in Oyo State has launched a free sensitization campaign against rape. This campaign is targeted at sensitizing female secondary school students (both private and government owned) in Oyo State. According to the C.E.O. of The Michael's Foundation, Mr. Michael Adeyemo, he noted that the alarming rate of rape and sexual abuse in Nigeria in which innocent girls have been violated is a thing of serious concern to the society and in a bid to doing their part as a foundation, they decided to go on a free sensitization campaign to orient female secondary school students on how to identify warning signals, who the rapist can be, how to respond appropriately being a potential rape victim, possible defense mechanism to use when about being raped (that if the victim is at an advantage position to strike), how to keep evidences from a rape scene for report, the right set of people to see after being raped among others. Mr. Michael added that it gives them great pleasure and a high sense of achievement being around these wonderful future leaders. The foundation however already has a team of professionals such as barristers, psychologists and peer educators who are committed to giving their best for a better Oyo State and Nigeria at large. The sensitization campaign will also be extended to churches, mosques, maternity centres, market squares among others. He concluded his comment by requesting the support and sponsorship from the good people of Nigeria identifying the need to augment the effort of the foundation in order to ameliorate the problem of rape in our society.
