Car Or Wife Which Is More Expensive To Maintain by samdede(m): 11:19am On Nov 10, 2010 |

samdede: Lol. Catchy headline. It all depends on various factors. For me, I reckon wife and family. You've probably got a car that's normally expensive to maintain. Maybe if you had a car that's cheaper to maintain, you would'nt feel so burdened. My two cents. |

@ German007 This car is sapping me. My family understand when cash is low but this car does not. Always want this to be changed and that to be replaced. Just tire this Toyota Camry. |

samdede: Whao Brother, sorry to hear. Camry's are usually one of the most affordable cars to maintain. Which year Camry do you have and what persistent/recurring problems are you having. |

The car started giving problem after entering a flood. Upper clutch was changed. The Kick started was also changed. Then engine has started smoking. My mechanic is suggesting ringing the engine which was done sometime April last year. |

samdede: Ok I see. One of the symptoms used to determine the need to ring an engine is determined by the type of smoke it emits from the exhaust. It may be also be an Injector smoke, also to the best of my knowledge if the engine has been ringed before and it still maintain's the standard but the performance isnt as it should be, he may need an 0-10 or 0-20 ring and further de-carbonize the cylinder head. I think you may need to get more expert advice on this one, sienna, onwan and sultaan are in-house tech-heads. Il notify Sienna on your behalf. |

Hmm, floods and car engines don't get along, worse if the engine ingests water through the air intake. Samdede, what sort of issues is your Toyota Camry giving you, after her tussle with the flood? |

I like the Subject . . . A wife is a great gift. If it is taking so much money from you and you know that you are taking the best care of it, it is better to let it go and get something that cost less to maintain. Good luck |

what a question, I initially felt it was a silly question, but taking a deep thought, its not silly after all, many people prefer giving all to make their cars in top shape, but often negotiate or frown at request for hair-do or new cloths by madam, lol. I have said it several times on this forum, bad mechanics can frustrate the hell outa car owners, imagine naija most reliable car- CAMRY, giving this chap wahala, I suggest u change mechanic or start thinking of checking the price of a tokunbo engine, wat model of camry is it anyway? |

samdede: It's unfair for you to place a monetary value on your wife, or worse still, to compare her mentenance cost wih your car. |

Another case of a Nairalander seeking help, yet not responding when more details are requested. Worse when you give advice, then you never hear from them again, or learn if the advice you gave them helped. Annoying! |
