kunlebco: op, I use htc sensation 4G unlocked from tmobile. I want to know know if I can have 2 internet settings. like having settings for glo and mtn at the same time on the fone so that I can switch to any of the Sims without reconfiguring the fone each time I want to change.

the settings may go off once u insert another sim; but u can always input them manually and save.it should still be in the fone as long as u dont wipe or clear the data settings of ur fone.
cheers

KazeKage1: In other buzz worthy news, I'm about taking the plunge into the tablet family.
Price range: 70k (Must be running an Android OS)
Will need all the pros and cons i can get from you folks.
Thanks
I have tablets from the US running android 2.3 OS at cheaper rates.

4llerbuntu: i think he is in yankee

BTW, RE DSCL PRICE FOR ONE X why buy a $500 for 105K? thats like a 35-40k markup? unit prices, thats gangster profiteering.. smh

I think you're just being mischievous. Considering the fact that the AT&T version was released just a few days ago, it is 100% certain that the version on sale by DSCL is the International Tegra 3 Quad core version which rings in at 450 pounds. That's around N115k

If anything, a Nigerian sale price of N105k is really, really cheap!

Finally, the unlocked AT&T version is sold for around $630 on amazon...N100k

I expect better from you... cheesy

Brotherly, they were talking about the AT&T version, and the pesin wey post price sef really didnt make any distinction.

and please dont quote amazon prices, hian soon u go dey quote ebay prices.

besides AT&T is selling the phone 16gb version for $199 on a 2 year contract. i dont suppose AT&T has started selling the unlocked version else it wont be the "AT&T" version

The person who originally started the conversation about the AT&T version lives in the US and clearly mentioned he Pre-ordered the phone. I'm pretty certain that Puskin and DSCL cannot time travel, so there's a 0% chance that the One X in stock in DSCL is the north American Snapdragon S4 variant.

4llerbuntu:
and please dont quote amazon prices, hian soon u go dey quote ebay prices.

I should not quote pricing from the largest online retailer in the world which is famous for price-matching goods to keep prices lower or on par with competing retailers? Dafuq?!!

4llerbuntu:

why i dey even answer u sef, i owe u explanation? grin Do u own shares in DSCL all of a sudden?
BTW ur prices are way exhorbitant and unbecoming. u expect me to go and buy a phone in the UK? i dey craze?

I have no idea why you're answering me. You were providing misinformation, I provided constructive feedback to you to correct that. Just accept the feedback and move on cheesy

Runs pretty snappy, no lag when switching between homescreens (Thank God! Gingerbread andn Honeycomb on Tegra 2 was infamous for this).

Haven't really switched to it as my primary device yet...still winding down on my iPhone.

i swear the move is harder than I thought. it would have been much easier if i'd dabbled with the GS II awhile before taking the plunge since that has a 4.3 inch screen. There's a system shock when you move straight from a 3.5 inch phone (iPhone) to a 4.7 inch device.

It's much harder to operate one handed though...and I cant seem to find the alphabetical shortcuts in the contacts page so it seems my days of dialling contacts while driving are numbered.

I'm trying to get as many of the essential apps as possible...shame about the less rich app selection on Android. It's one thing to talk about 'flexibility' and 'power' of Android but i'd cheerfully swap all the N64, Playstation and CPS2 emulators i've installed here with a working version of Garmin GPS or TomTom for Android...but it doesn't exist.

^^
Understand your point bout screen size. Was gonna dump my 4.3 cos I thought it was too big. Now a 5 inch + is a best seller. But dunno why HTC can't churn out bigger 3000+ Mah batteries like Droid maxx which still maintains one of the slimmest android profiles and boy, it is rumored to be able to take 1.5 days of heavy use - gaming, music, movies et al
Yh, quite a few apps missing on android. An option is Copilot or sygic navigator which gives traffic real time update plus speed cameras. Also do try tiger arcade instead, you'll get more options plus CPS-3 titles and more arcade emus

Already installed Sygic...does a good job but visually, Garmin takes it.

I'll try Tiger Arcade, I expect it's compatible with Sixaxis so I can hook it up to my PS3 controller.

Reviews of the international HTC One X have been fairly critical of the battery life but HTC has pushed out updates to drastically improve this. My installed custom ROM touts 'great battery life' as one of its features so I hope I have no battery life issues.

don't worry, anything in the world is better than the awful, awful battery life of the bold 9900 grin

hmmmmmm.....thought android was supposed to have millions of apps available in Google play?

does a working version of Garmin or tom tom exist on any other mobile platform?

Hi Nairalanders I have a SGS 2 and I discovered that my battery does not last as long as it used to. One thing I noticed is that it heats up when browsing via network, when playing videos etc can someone help please? thanks

Is there ICS for SGS 2?

GREAT FIND:

If you use your device to listen to music either via headphones or Bluetooth audio, having to take the phone out of your pocket to see who is calling or texting you is probably a common and tedious occurrence. Similarly, if you stream audio while driving, wouldn’t it be great to be able to know not only who was trying to reach you, but also what they wanted to say without having to take your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road?

Well thanks to XDA Forum Member crazy_fool1′s application ReadItToMe, you can now be notified of who is calling or texting you without even having to touch your device. And if you receive a text message, the app will even read it to you. As if that weren’t enough, ReadItToMe is even able to decipher the nonsensical gibberish that is txtspk. In the developer’s own word:

“Translate’s your text messages into proper english so you can understand whats being read.
With ReadItToMe This:
SMS from John saying: “btw dat woz amazin, I dunno y I wasn’t gonna go lol”
Becomes This:
“New message received from John. By the way that was amazing, I don’t know why I wasn’t going to go laugh out loud”
As well as that you can add your own words and translations easily through the UI.”

Check out the application thread for a full list of features and download links. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=robj.readit.tome

idle so iv been wondering abt some stuff

back in the days KIRFS were rubbish primarily because the OS they ran was indeterminate and crap.

these days you find that they mostly run android. they have even started moving away from winmo 6.5 grin grin grin grin

now truth is if the device is not so underpowered in terms of specs, and runs exactly the same OS your "original" phones run, whats there not to like?

an example is the 7 inch tablet @KazeKage was referring to me a few days back.

anor example is this Galaxy Note knockoff which might even most likely pass as original because they spelled the samsung name correctly for branding!!! shocked shocked

im not making out a case for buying chinkos o, i don't and would be leery to do so anyway given that they may simply go up in smoke one day cheesy cheesy cheesy,

BUT that Galaxy Note clone for $200? grin grin grin pls watch the video embedded on that page.

but why don't the igbo boiz who keep bringing stuff from china actually get stuff like dis instead of all those noisy rubbish they keep bringing in? cool cool cool

seems to me there is money to be made from chiko androids...... wink wink

Thank me later for the biz idea wink
