Sowore’s Bail Condition: We’ll Approach Court Again –CDHR by Ctorch: 1:04pm On Oct 24, 2019
Following what it called stringent and impossible bail conditions granted by Abuja Federal High Court to secure the release of Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters and convener of #RevolutionNow, the Centre for Defense of Human Rights (CDHR) has said it would approach the court again to ensure that reasonable bail condition was given.
Yinka Folarin, Lagos State Secretary of CDHR, told Daily Independent that his organisation had not abandoned Sowore, contrary to insinuation in some quarters, which he described as unthinkable.
He said Sowore remained a very strong member of its constituency, stressing that it was impossible for him to be abandoned or neglected.
He said the organisation had occupied itself with the compilation of all cases of human rights violation across the country and it was ready to challenge government on them.
“Sowore’s case has exposed the ills of this government. We won’t accept the reduction of the bail fee by 50 percent, it is ridiculous. We are on top of the game.
“We can never accept the undemocratic condition attached to the bail conditions. The restrictions to movement, freedom of association and the rest of them are not acceptable to us.

“Everything is wrong with the bail conditions and we would continue to oppose that. We have our lawyer, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and he is doing well.”
Folarin said Sowore’s case had exposed this government and its disrespect for human rights, maintaining that activists would never be intimidated by the government and its agencies.
He stressed that they were going to approach the court again to ensure that reasonable bail condition be given.

He maintained that the citizens deserved their freedom as enshrined in the constitution and any violation of such rights must be resisted and no government agency would stop them from standing up to oppose evil.

Sowore should humble himself and ask Naira Marley to take him to the babalawo that caused that confusion in his favour today
