Telecommunications Service Providers Paying Bloggers For Data Usage? by adeara(m): 5:37pm On Oct 31, 2019 |
Hello house. There is an argument here that Nigerian telecommunications service providers - Glo, MTN, Airtel or 9Mobile - pay a percentage of money to bloggers whenever an internet users log onto their website using data. I believe there is nothing like that, while there are very many people that believe so. The argument arise from a fact we wish to know about how Oride make money because we believe the price they charge passengers is very small compare to the distance they go. So, some people believe they are being paid for data usage by any body that use Oride App to get the service. Anybody in the house that work in MTN or Glo or any other telecommunications service providers that can let us know the truth? Thanks |

Why do you say is stupid? Is it a sin for someone to want to know what he doesn't know? Do we live the same places? Do we operate at same levels? Do we move the same pace? Pls if you cannot provide an answer stop this. Thanks |

They are not given any chunk by any telecommunication provider or ISP it's just part of their business model, get more users first. When you have investors Willing to put millions of dollars in a business, just know that profit won't be the main focus, but user engagement. Meanwhile, there is nothing wrong in asking any question even if it sounds stupid, no one knows it all. |

I think Telecom companies need to start paying content providers online.. or cut off their huge data Price which has no value whatsoever for the amount being paid to get it. |

They don't pay them. The Oride company probably lowered the price so as to penetrate the market. Companies can often operate at a loss for certain period to gain their share of the market before they increase the price. It's all business strategy. If they can do it for long then their competitors will start losing customers and will be forced out of business. This way only Oride will be available and then it can increase its price as it likes. But concerning the telcos and bloggers, they don't pay them anything. Bloggers make their money through adverts placed on their website or by selling things like ebooks or video courses. |
