Stupid politicians are looking for countries to run to after looting our reserves with reckless abandon. They are seeing Vietnam as a country to seek asylum

It is a first step to other things that entail strengthening the trade and diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Vietnam. It could also be a first step to having them set up shop in Nigeria thus creating employment for Nigerians.

Think far and wide and not in a myopic fashion
visa waiver for diplomat and official passport holders?
what is there to think about?
if its always official then its political as usual

if hardworking nigerians and genuine biz men hav to still go throught the rigorious visa process then whats the point!

in better countries wwivers is accepted to the benefit of all its citizen

Vietnam a country once ravaged by civil war, it's great to see the north and south come together as one under socialist rule

What happened to communism though? I thought that was the reason for the fighting, so all those lives lost, and for nothing

I'd like to visit Hanoi some day. For those who don't know their lots of imported Vietnamese products here in Nigeria. Especially shoes clothes etc

I personally know a big business man in the north who imports his goods from Vietnam

A smart business man will see an opportunity in this deal. There are more business deals than rice importation . When other see loss, one person score big. First do a research on Vietnam before jumping into conclusions.

Just wait and see, you will soon find Vietnamese in different part of Nigeria with official passports. We just signed a deal with country that their condition than ours. If we no allow them sell rice, dem go come in person. It is a win/win situation for them. They actually came prepared. Kudo's to the genius they employed to give them this tremendous strategy. For them, if their appeal falls on deal ears, they sign a bilateral agreement which will benefit them as far as they don't go back empty. While an average Nigeria will not want to go to Vietnam, an average Vietnamese sees Nigeria like small London. Our economy gives them 30℅ of what their economy is worth, cutting off the sales of rice, they will not mind involving the UN to intervene before we crash their economy.

Please learn to read and comprehend before hitting the reply button. This waiver does not concern business men or ordinary Nigerians for that matter. The waiver is only for government officials with diplomatic passports. No how many Nigerians have diplomatic passports, I am sure they are less than 2000.

To tell how stupid and useless the agreement is, people holding diplomatic passports are usually given visa by most countries without much scrutiny anyway.

Ignorance is really a bliss, Vietnam is the only small south eastern Asian country that have defeat major world powers in France and USA

They went toe to toe with China until China called a truce....

Till this day Vietnam is the only country standing up to China because China is claiming the South China Sea as their ancestorial heritage.

Small but powerful country, they are next to China in manufacturing and production labor.

I read about Rwanda president signing a visa waiver between his country and Qatar yesterday, I was so impressed.

Not like someone that will just be traveling and attending all functions, while his only achievement is taking pictures.
