Launch of Africa’s premier Community Engagement and Human Rights (CAHR) Awards.

The CAHR awards is designed to serve as a platform for encouraging businesses, and individuals, to champion inclusive and equitable engagement within communities, primarily extractive (oil and gas and mining) communities, by acknowledging and appreciating the best performing and most inspiring individuals. It is a part of the Sustainability in the Extractive Industries (SITEI) Conference, and will take place on 22 November, 2019.

The CAHRAwards has seven categories namely:
- The Ken Saro-Wiwa Environmental Management Award
- The MKO Abiola Community Engagement Awards
- The Hajiya Gambo Sawaba Community Impact Award
- The Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti Human Rights Award
- The Apostle Hayford Alile Humanitarian Award
- The Sir Ahmadu Bello Award for Leadership
- The Josephine Nkemdilim-Bertram Ekenanye Equal Rights Award.

Nominations will end on Tuesday, 5 November, 2019, with voting slated to begin on Wednesday, 6 November, 2019, and end on Monday, 11 November, 2019.

Selection of award winners will be transparent, based not only on the number of entries and votes polled on each individual or organisation’s behalf, but on the viability of nominees determined by the judges, so be sure to rally support for your organisation or nominee, particularly one who/which qualifies.
