Data Science Or Web Development: Which Is A Better Option For A Nigerian? / Medical Laboratory Science Or Programming Please Advise / Data Science Or Data Engineering (2) (3) (4)
Re: Data Science Or Cyber Security? by Grandlord: 10:53pm On Nov 03, 2019 |
iCode2:Yeah. I had started learning Django, the Python framework for web dev, but they were mentioning HTML a lot, so I had to pause for a while and go learn html alongside CSS. I think I'll add JavaScript at once. I'm also learning the data science frameworks too. I see you're interested in just the data science aspect ? |
Re: Data Science Or Cyber Security? by iCode2: 5:31am On Nov 04, 2019 |
Grandlord:I'm interested in both. I have some personal Web dev projects I want to execute. Also, while fully data science, nothing wrong if a brother occasionally makes some money off freelance web dev jobs |
Re: Data Science Or Cyber Security? by Grandlord: 8:12am On Nov 04, 2019 |
iCode2:Absolutely. I'm looking to offer web dev services on freelance sites for a start. Then maybe push further by mastering either data science or mobile app development. The most important thing for me though, is that I'm enjoying the learning process and the amazing things you can do with these technologies. 1 Like |

Grandlord:Yea, there's a lot to with these technologies. Will you be sticking with python for web dev or you're going to learn php as well? Where is bunnae |
Re: Data Science Or Cyber Security? by Grandlord: 11:17am On Nov 04, 2019 |
iCode2:PHP is quite popular among web devs from the research I've made on Upwork and Fiverr, so I'll definitely get in there too. You know, I'm not learning them one after the other. I want to learn like 4 of them, simultaneously. Like I'm doing school courses yeah? I'll allocate hours to each of them daily. Like a timetable you get? So I'll do HTML/CSS and JavaScript today, then PHP and Python the next day, because if I wanna take them singly, I'd end up forgetting the ones I've learnt previously . So I get to touch on each of them at least for 4 hours a week. That's my study strategy. What's yours? Bunnae's gone AWOL |

Grandlord:Do you really think it's possible to master Web dev and Data science alongside? I just have a feeling you wouldn't be very rounded in any of two because your energies will be divergent. But then, there are always exceptions to some rules. I also have plans for web development but I'll start with python/django. Then I'll dive into javascript/php while learning. Meehn I really want to work from home. Freelancing or working remotely for coys. Make man still get time run business. It seems you've decided to major in Web dev I had to bring it here so that we don't derail that thread. |
Re: Data Science Or Cyber Security? by Grandlord: 11:06pm On Nov 05, 2019 |
iCode2:Okay i get it. Well, I think web dev is really flexible and that's great for freelancing.I just want to get started with it and then expand into other lucrative fields even if it means going on to get a masters degree or diploma in CS. I'm just super interested in this whole software world; From embedded to data science to mobile apps to games dev.I'll take on as much as I can bro. I regret why I didn't start earlier, like during my teenage years 1 Like |

Grandlord:I seem to be all over the place with python. What learning resources did you employ during yours? |
Re: Data Science Or Cyber Security? by Grandlord: 5:06pm On Nov 16, 2019 |
bunnae:For books(PDFs, epubs); a)Automate the boring stuff with python.(I started out with this one) b)Python crash course. c) A smarter way to learn python. (This one's easier to follow but not challenging enough) Videos; Python tutorials with Mosh Hammedani. A 6-hour long video tutorial available on YouTube. Holds your hand all the way from python installation, to setting up the IDE, to projects. An alternative is the one from freecodecamp. That one's four hours. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Grandlord:It's been great o. Although it's been difficult focusing due to the fact that I'm writing my thesis too in school. I have been using a crash course 8n python. I love the author. Then I was also using mosh's video Sha. But e get one day when mosh provoke me. This moment he was telling me how to create a list, the next moment he is asking me to build an atomic bomb in an exercise. I had to stop using the video, it was making me feel like I wasn't picking much. When I'm done with books I will go back to the video. How far na. You dey celebrate Christmas? If you do , compliment of the season. icode2. I dey hail you oh. I Sha like your moniker . |
Re: Data Science Or Cyber Security? by Grandlord: 10:10pm On Dec 16, 2019 |
bunnae:Mosh is like that maths teacher who'd solve 1 + 1 as an example but gives you a rocket science exercise. The book is good yeah. Christmas? yeah sure. I no dey miss celebrations o. It's a short and unpredictable life we live, so I make the most out of it. Compliment of the season to you too. 1 Like |
